How to apply to work at Neumann Family Services:
First, all candidates must pass a TABE test (a basic reading test required by the state of Illinois). Tests are given every Monday and Wednesday at 11:45am at our main facility, 5547 N. Ravenswood. Candidates must bring a valid drivers license. State IDs are not accepted.
Once you pass the test, you will be asked to fill out a Neumann Family Services Application Form. A resume and cover letter may also be submitted along with the Neumann Family Services Application Form. An interview will be scheduled or conducted at this time.

Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS degree in social work, psychology or related field or High School diploma with 5 years of experience. 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. Good interpersonal and communication skills and written command of the English language (based on language understood by the residents). Must have the ability to complete all required documentation. Excellent organizational skills. Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office. Able to lift up to 30 pounds. Can perform simple household maintenance tasks. Qualified candidate must possess a valid and clean driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance and must have their own vehicle. Must pass Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), Criminal background check, Nurse’s Aide Registry and CANT’s background check.
General Functions: Responsible for the day to day operations of the home. Responsible for selecting, hiring, training and supervising DSPs (Direct Service Professionals). Responsible for maintaining the quality of the home and services provided to the members. Responsible for providing leadership to the DSPs. Responsible for collaborating with the Q/Case Manager for all programming, services and needs of the members. On-call duties are required with this position.
Hours: Full-time-Salaried employee. Required schedule will be 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. weekly. The position typically works 40 hours per week but may vary based on the needs of the house or as assigned by the Residential Director. The position is required to work two different weekend shifts per month and some holidays. 80% of the time will be spent at the homes and 20% of time spent at our main offices.
Direct Service Professional
Reports to: House Manager
Positions Supervised: None
Minumum Qualifications: Must be at least at least 21 years of age, possess a valid drivers license, and pass a fingerprint background check. Applicants must also possess a High School diploma or a combination of a GED and Associates degree. Background or experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illness is preferred.
General Functions: Responsible for supervision, training development and implementation of individual program plan, behavior management program, all related activities and required documentation as defined by the treatment team. Advocate is under the supervision of the Residential Coordinator. If you are flexible we have the hours at either our Mental Health sites and/or Developmental Disabilities sites on evenings and weekends.

Salary: $10.23-$11.73 per hour
